Lenette and Skiing :-)
15 Feb 2007
Carlos has been looking forward to it for a long time, Lenette has mixed feeling. But, finally the time has come, we go skiing.

A lot of snow has fallen and it is a beautiful drive to the ski slopes. They are within easy reach, about a half hour drive from Aizu-Wakamatsu, where we live.
Luckily there is somebody who speaks English and can help us with the ski rental. Here we are at the beginners ski slope, where Lenette, with shaking knees, follows the 3 and 4 years olds up to the top of the baby slope.
Okay, Lenette survived her first ski experience down the baby slope. Carlos thinks it is time to take the normal ski lift. It was great, although Lenette spent a lot of time with her nose in the snow, and subsequently trying to get up again....

But, as with everything, practice makes perfect. So we practiced a lot. It is also possible to ski in the evening. The slopes are lit till 9pm. Colleagues that visit our office, like to take the opportunity to go skiing with us. We already make a lot of people happy with a trip to the ski slopes.
Last winter
Wasn't very good for skiing, but we made the most of it, and were lucky at times. Even when the roads and parking lot near the ski slopes were free of snow, the quality of the snow was good enough to go skiing.
Sometimes you also need to work, even on the ski slopes. Luckily you can use your phone and when you're really lucky, some issues can be solved by phone. Also this time, we didn't have to go home for Carlos to work....

When we get home, sometimes we first have to clear our parking space, so we can park. Everything has it's price...
Now the winter is over, ski and mountainboard gear is in storage. Now even Lenette doesn't mind the prospect of another winter here: we can go skiing again!
