Carnaval in Tokyo

We're lucky that both of us have to be in Yokohama for a meeting. This time we can spend a weekend in Tokyo together. Paulien told us about a Brazilian carnaval in Asakusa in Tokyo. That sounded very interesting.

On Sunday we decided to take the boat to Odaiba. That's where we had a "stop over" before we went to the airport.

It's a different view to see the city from the water. We go under quite a few bridges.....

Odaiba is a big artificial island. There you find several shopping malls, museums and the Toyota Showcase.

In Toyota Showcase, you can see old and new cars.

Is this the one person car of the future?

029_toyota_3

Will this be the new family car?

This is a very praktical way of getting in/out of your car.

But they also have different toys. A Toyota Supra, where you can feel like a professional race car driver, only you don't move one bit..

This one doesn't move a bit either, but it was a lot more fun. A virtual reality game where you can test your qualities as a Formula 1 driver. Carlos was really into the game, like he was Juan Pablo Montoya (when he still drove the F1 cars).
