Emperor Day on 23, November, is a national holiday. Together with Paulien, Emily and her friend we registered for a daytrip to Shosenkyo. It was a photo trip, organized by the Netherlands-Japan Society. This means that an expert explains how best to take photos. In the bus a basic translation in English was given (15 min. talk in Japanese, 5 min talk in English). During the walk, the explanation was in Japanese only. But that didn’t matter, the scenery was very impressive and every now and then we could look through the lens of the expert and try to copy it.

On our way back to Tokyo, we stopped at a winery. After a quick tour, there was a possibility to taste some wines and of course the idea was that we would stock up on wine….

Paulien came to Nagasaki. She had to work on Saturday, but in the evening there was time to enjoy karaoke with Atsumi.

On Sunday we were able to tour Nagasaki a bit, before she had to go back home.
